Whitechurch Stouffville Real EstateThis progressive area is a composite community with the town of Stouffville as its' urban hub.

It is the fastest growing centre in York Region. With the population recorded in June 2010 as 36,500 people, the projections are that by 2026 62,000 people will reside in the area.

It lives up to its' motto of “Country close to the City” in that it is located on the Oak Ridges Moraine, and is 14 Km north of Toronto. It has become a thriving bedroom community and has easy access to the 404. It is directly connected to downtown Toronto by both Go Train and Go Bus lines.

The boundaries of Whitchurch Stouffville are Highway 404 to the west, Davis Drive to the north, the York Durham town line to the east, and roughly the 19th Sideroad to the south.

Century homes are clustered around Main Street between 9th and 10th lines. Surrounding this are areas of newer housing. At present building is continuing. To the north of Stouffville proper are much larger estate homes.

36 Semidetached homes sold in the same time period for an average price of $360,000. Again, this was an average of 99% of the asking prices. Average taxes were $2,900.

62 detached homes listed between $428,000 - $500,000 sold for an average price of $457,000. (98% of ask price).

TRANSPORTATION:

go Train Station, Whitchurch Stouffville2 GO TRANSIT stations connect Stouffville to Union Station in downtown Toronto. Lincolnville GO station is located in the north east area, and the main GO station is located on Main Street in the centre of town. GO trains travel south through Markham. York Region Transit also operates two bus routes through Stouffville. Statistics show the residents depend heavily on their cars for transportation at the present time.

EDUCATION:

The York Region District School Board has 6 public schools in the community at present. Ballantrae Public School, Glad Park Public School, Summitview Pulic School, Whitchurch Highlands Public School, Harry Bowes Public School, and Oscar Peterson Public School. Another public school is scheduled to open in 2012. Stouffville District Secondary School services the area at the present time.

The York Catholic District School Board has 2 elementary schools, Saint Mark's Elementary School and St. Brigid Elementary School. Secondary students are bussed to Brother Andre Catholic High School in Markham or attend Stouffville District Secondary School.
